Communities of Practice
After the two global civil society consultations and regional meetings organized by the Quaker United Nations Office in Geneva, Nairobi, Thailand and Sarajevo, the Working Group on Armed Violence and Development is facilitating the creation of regional and sub-regional communities of practice on AV&D.
These spaces aim at promoting interaction, exchange, and peer-to-peer learning, among practitioners. It also seeks to better inform the international and national policy and programming processes on the prevention and reduction of armed violence.
South-South and South-North cooperation exchanges will be encouraged across regions. It is also expected that regional communities of practice will create national chapters involving civil society, government, researchers and the private sector.
If you are a practitioner and want to take part in our communities of practice please send an email to contact@violenceanddevelopment.org
